New KISS Hose 1/4 Turn Connectors
This photo shows the new hose quick disconnect parts for the Sport KISS which includes 2 new towers, 4 hose couplers with locking rings and 2 replacement pieces for the DSV.
This photo shows the 2 ends of the quick disconnect. The black part is the hose coupler and is permanently attached to the end of the hose. The 2 o-rings provide a seal when the coupler is plugged into the top of the tower. The ribbed ring is then pushed down and turned a quarter of a turn to lock the 2 parts together. To disassemble the collar must be pushed down and rotated back a quarter of a turn before the 2 parts can be pulled apart. A spring prevents the collar from turning accidentally.
Another shot of the new and old towers. The new tower with the hose coupler installed is a little taller than the old tower.
Here is a shot of the new DSV parts. The part on the left is the hose coupler and is identical to the coupler used on the tower end of the hose. The part on the right replaces the existing hose swivel collars on the DSV.
The old DSV before modification. The monofilament line in the groove must be removed so that the existing hose swivel collars can be removed.
The DSV with the new parts installed. The monofilament line must now be replaced in the groove to hold the new parts in place.
The DSV with the hose couplers installed.
The hose coupler is installed on the end of the hose using the existing plastic collar and hose clamp
I added a piece of bicycle inner tube over the hose clamps to cover the rough edges.
The new loop ready to go. You can now do a complete tear down of the Sport KISS with no tools.
